Recourse is a marketplace and a drafting tool. The free draft on its own is informational: Recourse is not a law firm, does not represent you, and using the draft alone does not create an attorney–client relationship. The ₹499 stamp is different — the Bar Council–enrolled advocate who signs the sealed notice takes professional responsibility for that specific document under their state Bar rules. Nothing else on this site should be read as legal advice for your particular situation.

You are solely responsible for the factual accuracy of any information you enter and any notice you send. Recourse assembles a draft from your inputs and applicable statutes; advocates on the marketplace review the draft against your inputs, not against the underlying reality of your dispute. Sending a notice with materially false statements about another party may expose you to civil or criminal liability.

• Intake form fields

  The situation, tenant, landlord, property, evidence, and jurisdiction details you enter into the app.

• Session identifier

  An anonymous ID linking your intake to the resulting draft.

• IP address

  Used for rate-limiting, abuse prevention, and aggregated analytics. Not stored alongside your intake content.

• Email address (stamp only)

  Collected only when you request the ₹499 stamp, so the advocate can send the sealed PDF to you.

• Payment metadata (stamp only)

  Transaction ID and status from our payment processor. Card numbers never touch our servers.

• Rating

  If you rate the draft or the stamp after delivery.

• No account for the draft

  The free draft never requires a login.

• No third-party trackers

  No advertising cookies, no cross-site behavioural profiling.

• No card data

  Card details are handled entirely by our PCI-DSS-compliant payment processor. We only see success/failure.

Unstamped session data (intake fields and the drafted notice) is stored in an ephemeral key-value store with a 24-hour time-to-live, then permanently deleted. Stamped notices are retained for one year on our side — required so we can honour advocate-facing disputes, refunds, and compliance requests — and, separately, by the assigned advocate under their own professional record-keeping obligations. Aggregated, non-identifying counters (for example, drafts per day) are retained for up to ninety days for product analytics.

When you request the ₹499 stamp, the assigned Bar Council–enrolled advocate receives the draft, your redlines, and the email address you provided. They do not receive your IP address, session identifier, or any data from unrelated files. Advocates on the marketplace sign a confidentiality undertaking as a condition of joining and are bound by their state Bar's professional-conduct rules.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information. Your intake data is processed by our infrastructure providers (hosting, key-value store, and the LLM that assembles the draft) strictly to render the service to you, and only for the retention windows described above. For stamped notices, your data is additionally shared with the assigned advocate as necessary to render the stamp.

Because unstamped sessions are anonymous and expire in 24 hours, we typically have no data to correct or delete beyond that window. For stamped notices, you may request access to your file, correction of stored data, or deletion of retained copies (subject to the advocate's own professional retention obligations). If you apply to join the marketplace as an advocate, we retain your name, state Bar roll number, and email for onboarding and verification. If your application does not progress within ninety days, this data is deleted unless you ask us to keep it on file.

We update this page as the product evolves. Material changes are reflected in the "Last updated" date. Continued use of Recourse after an update indicates your acceptance of the revised terms.
